1:00pm Home Brew Competition
The Maryland Brewer’s Homebrew contest is created for all the local people who have
formulated the perfect recipe for beer and have honed the skills necessary for home brewery.
This unique talent will be judged by the brew experts from the Maryland Brewer’s Association.
The winner of this contest will be rewarded a cash prize of $100 for first, $75 for second and
$50 for third place as well as the esteem of their fellow brewers. CLICK HERE for the Official

The competition will be judging all styles of beer. The last (2004) revision of the style

2:00pm Wife Carrying Contest
Win Your Wife’s Weight in Beer! For those folks who think they can carry their wife
(or significant other) far and fast, they need to enter The Wife Carrying Contest.
Registrants need to register at the entrance of the show, complete with names and weight.
We’ll have scales on hand. The race will be run on the Timonium Horse track. The specially
designed beer Olympic regulation obstacle course is simple but tough. The winning couple
will win the wife’s weight in beer! Good luck!
3:00pm Miss Oktoberfest Contest
For the merry maids there is the admired Miss Oktoberfest contest. Not only will these
fine-looking ladies dressed in genuine German attire be judged on their appearance and
costume but also their knowledge of Oktoberfest by being asked a number of questions
such as to name a German sausage. The lucky lady will proudly wear the Miss Oktoberfest
sash, carry the trophy beer mug as well as receive $100 in cash!
Official Rules:
1. No contest entry fee applies. However, you must pay admission at the gate
to enter the Maryland Brewer’s Oktoberfest.
2. All entries must be 21 years of age or older.
3. All prizes will be received on-site after the contest.
4. Sign Up for the Contest at the Show Entrance on Event Day.
3:30pm Baltimore’s Best Beer Belly Contest
Fellas, do you think your gut has what it takes to win this glorious recognition?
If so, then come on and compete in the Baltimore’s Best Beer Belly contest.
Candidates will be judged on size and personality by the audience. The winner will be
hailed as owner of Baltimore’s Best Beer Belly for 2009 on the event website and receive
an honorary beer mug trophy & beer tokens at the event in order to begin training for next
year’s contest. May the best belly win!

3:45 Pretzel Necklace Competition
Does your pretzel necklace have what it takes to not only get you through a day of drinking but to also put all other foodie necklaces to shame?? If so, be sure to make your pretzel necklace stand out from the rest at this competition. You can use any objects (food & nonfood) to make your necklace but you must include pretzels in your design.
If you haven’t seen pretzel necklaces before….then you are lame! What? – get up from where I am for food, snacks – NEVER! We look forward to seeing your designs! The winner will take home a Heavy Seas Gift Basket and $100!
